With 542 km of pistes, Les Trois Vallées in Savoie covers almost every level. Around 60% of the runs are green or blue (323 km), and 47 short easy runs sit right next to a lift base, so beginners rarely have to commit to a long descent. Intermediates get 248 km of blue and 153 km of red. Experts have 63 km of black, expert and freeride terrain (12%), including 17 km of marked freeride and a single run with 1,052 m of vertical. Families benefit from 31 magic carpets and 43 gondolas and cable cars, which avoid chairlift loading with small children.

The area runs from 1,110 m to 3,220 m, so snow cover is generally reliable high up, and the longest run measures 4,227 m. There are 170 lifts, among them 56 chairlifts and 37 gondolas. Val Thorens is reached by ski bus, with about 2,497 m to the lifts. Cross-country skiers have 52 km of trails.
