SkiTrip minimizes data collection. There are no accounts, we don't sell your data, and you control cookies. This policy explains what data we do collect and why.
WHO WE ARE

DATA WE COLLECT
Automatically Collected
When you visit SkiTrip, we may collect:
- Technical data: Browser type, device type, operating system, screen resolution
- Usage data: Pages visited, time spent, interactions (anonymized)
- Location data: Country or region from your IP address, used to suggest where your journey to the resort starts; a precise position only if you grant it in the browser
Affiliate Click Tracking
When you click an affiliate link, we log:
- The page you clicked from
- The partner and type of link (stay, ticket, car, activity)
- A hashed session identifier (not your IP address)
- Timestamp
We do NOT store raw IP addresses or user-agent strings in click logs. Session identifiers are salted hashes that cannot be reversed to identify you. Click logs are deleted after 90 days.
Data You Provide
If you contact us or subscribe to the newsletter, we collect:
- Your email address, and the language you subscribed in
- The content of your message, if you write to us
COOKIES
We use cookies and similar technologies. You can control cookie preferences via the banner shown on your first visit.
Required for site functionality: your cookie choice, your language, security tokens.
Help us understand how visitors use SkiTrip. Data is aggregated and anonymized.
Used by affiliate partners to attribute bookings. Required for some booking widgets.

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
- Provide the service: Show ski areas and bases, suggest the journey from where you are
- Improve the site: Understand which content is useful, fix issues
- Measure affiliate performance: Which pages lead to bookings (aggregate only)
- Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and spam
DATA SHARING
We share data with:
- Affiliate partners: When you click through to book, the partner receives a tracking ID
- Infrastructure providers: Hosting, CDN, analytics, the newsletter service (EU-based where possible)
We never sell your personal data to third parties.
YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR)
If you're in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format

- HTTPS encryption on all pages
- Hashed session identifiers (no raw IPs stored)
- Access controls and audit logs for admin systems
- Regular security updates of the software we run
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
SkiTrip is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be announced on the site. The “last updated” date below indicates when the policy was last revised.
