About the area

Cortina d'Ampezzo spreads 112 km of pistes across the Dolomites, and the balance leans clearly towards confident skiers: 53 km are red and 11 km black or freeride terrain, about 10% of the area. Intermediates get the most out of it. Beginners are not shut out — 43 km, or 38% of the network, is green or blue — but with only one magic carpet and a fair share of steep runs, first-timers and families with small children should plan carefully.

The area runs from 858 m up to 2,739 m, so the upper sectors hold snow better than the valley floor. Thirty-six lifts serve it, including four gondolas and four cable cars: eight lifts that small children can board without a moving chair, which helps with family logistics. Cross-country skiers have 7 km of prepared trails.
