About the area

Cortina Tofane covers about 39 km of pistes in the Dolomites, and the mix leans clearly towards easier skiing: 63% of the runs are green or blue, which is roughly 25 km, with 24 km of that in the blue range. A magic carpet handles first steps, so complete beginners have somewhere to start before moving onto the long blues. Families are well served here. Only 11% of the terrain, about 4 km, is black or freeride, so strong skiers looking for a full week of steep pitches will run out of options; confident intermediates get the most from it.

Thirteen lifts serve the area, including three gondolas and two cable cars — useful with small children, since five lifts need no chairlift loading. Seven chairlifts and one magic carpet make up the rest. Skiing runs from 1,211 m up to 2,739 m, so the upper slopes hold conditions better than the valley floor.
