Janské Lázně - Černá hora

Černá hora above Janské Lázně is a mid-sized Czech area with about 18 km of pistes: 8 km blue, 9 km red and just 1 km black. With 44% of the runs green or blue and only 4% marked black, it works best for beginners and families. Three magic carpets cover first turns, and eleven short easy runs sit right next to a lift base, so learners can repeat laps without long traverses. Confident intermediates have the red kilometres to play with; experts will find little here, since the black terrain is minimal and the biggest vertical on a single run is 311 m.

The skiing runs from 629 m to 1263 m, and the longest descent measures 1357 m. Seventeen lifts serve the mountain, including a gondola that avoids chairlift loading with small children, two chairlifts, nine platters, a T-bar and a rope tow. There are also 2 km of cross-country tracks and 2 km of floodlit piste for evening skiing.
