Hauser Kaibling in Styria is part of the Schladming Dachstein area and covers about 29 km of piste, of which 19 km (63%) are green or blue. That balance suits beginners and cruising intermediates, with 8 km of red runs to progress onto. Only about 2 km, or 7%, is black or expert terrain, so strong skiers will run out of challenge here quickly. Families can manage it, though note that three of the lifts are gondolas or a cable car rather than chairlifts, which is easier for very small children to load.
Eleven lifts serve the mountain: two gondolas, one cable car, six chairlifts and two platters. The valley station sits at 723 m and the top at 2,004 m, so the upper slopes hold snow better than the lower return runs, which are worth checking early and late in the season.
