About the area

Zinal / Grimentz offers about 71 km of pistes in the Valais, and the balance is unusual: roughly 22 km blue, 24 km red and 22 km black or marked as expert/freeride terrain. That makes it a solid intermediate area, with red runs the natural core of a day. Beginners can get started — three magic carpets and 18 short easy runs sit next to lift bases — but only 32% of the network (22 km) is green or blue, and 31% is black. For strong skiers the black terrain exists, though the longest single vertical of 823 m limits sustained descents.

The two linked villages are served by 23 lifts: 3 gondolas, 3 cable cars, 5 chairlifts, 8 platters, one T-bar and three magic carpets. The six gondola and cable-car lifts help with small children, who do not have to load a chairlift. Skiing runs from 1,552 m to 2,872 m, and the longest run measures 3,088 m.
