Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl offers 38 km of marked pistes, and 63% of them are green or blue (24 km), so the bulk of the terrain is easy or moderate cruising. Another 12 km are red, which gives confident intermediates room to move up. Strong skiers should look elsewhere: only about 2 km, or 4%, is black or expert-graded, so a full week of steep skiing is not on offer here. For beginners the mix is favourable, though the small share of hard runs also means limited progression at the top end.
Fourteen lifts serve the area, including three gondolas, six chairlifts, three T-bars and two platters; the gondolas are useful with small children, who are harder to load onto chairs. Skiing runs from 1,010 m at the base to 2,108 m at the top, so the upper slopes hold snow better than the valley. The area is part of the Ski amadé network.
