About the area

Wildkogel is a gentle, wide-open area: 74% of the 68 km of pistes are green or blue, which comes to 51 km of easy skiing, while only 4 km (6%) is black. That mix makes it a straightforward choice for beginners and families, helped by 29 short easy runs right next to a lift base and one magic carpet for first turns. Experts will run out of material quickly: the steep terrain is limited and the longest vertical on a single run is 695 m.

The ski area runs from 813 m up to 2,125 m, so the upper slopes hold snow better than the valley runs. Of the 21 lifts, 5 are gondolas or cable cars, useful with small children since there is no chairlift loading, plus 4 chairlifts and a mix of surface tows. The longest descent measures 5,336 m, and 7 km of piste is floodlit for evening skiing.
