About the area

Wagrain offers about 40 km of pistes, and just over half of it — 21 km — is green or blue, which makes it a sound choice for beginners and families. There are 14 km of red runs to progress onto, so confident intermediates will find enough to fill a few days. Experts are less well served: only 4 km, or 9% of the terrain, is black or freeride, so hard skiers should treat it as part of the wider Ski amadé rather than a destination in itself.

Seventeen lifts serve the area, including four gondolas — useful with small children, since there is no chairlift loading — plus eight chairlifts and a magic carpet for first turns. The slopes run from 735 m to 1804 m, so lower sections depend on cold spells. Cross-country skiers have 1 km of track nearby.
