Unterbäch - Eischoll

About the area

Unterbäch–Eischoll is a small Valais area of about 37 km of pistes, and more than half of it (21 km, 56%) is green or blue. That makes it a sensible choice for beginners and for families: there is a magic carpet for first turns and around ten short easy runs sitting next to a lift base, so children can repeat the same slope without long traverses. Experts will find it limited — only 5 km, or 14%, is black or freeride terrain, and the biggest vertical on a single run is 445 m.

Eleven lifts serve the area, including two cable cars, which means small children can be loaded without a moving chairlift, plus three chairlifts, three T-bars, a platter and a rope tow. Skiing runs between 1,231 m and 2,431 m, with 10 km covered by snowmaking to back up the lower slopes. The longest descent measures 3,118 m, and 1 km of piste is floodlit for evening skiing.
