About the area

Turracher Höhe in Carinthia is a mid-sized area: about 33 km of pistes, of which 18 km are red and 13 km blue, with under 1 km marked black — 2% of the terrain. That mix makes it an intermediate's area first of all. Beginners are decently served, with 40% of the runs green or blue and eight short easy runs next to a lift base, though there is only one magic carpet for first turns, which is worth knowing if you are bringing small children. Experts should look elsewhere: the longest vertical on a single run is 479 m and there is almost no steep or marked freeride terrain.

The slopes run from 1391 m to 2192 m, high for the Eastern Alps and helpful for snow. Fifteen lifts serve the area: six chairlifts plus four T-bars, two platters, a rope tow, a mixed lift and the magic carpet. The longest run measures 2019 m, and cross-country skiers have 9 km of tracks.
