Štrbské Pleso
About the area
Štrbské Pleso is a small area in the Slovak Tatras: about 7 km of pistes, of which roughly 3 km (41%) are green or blue and none are black or freeride. That makes it a sound choice for beginners, with a magic carpet for first turns and two short easy runs right by a lift base. Families can ski here, but with the caveat that there is only one magic carpet. Experts should look elsewhere — there is no black or freeride terrain, and the biggest vertical on a single run is 274 m.
Seven lifts serve the slopes: four chairlifts, two platters and the carpet. The pistes run between 1,377 m and 1,822 m, giving 445 m of vertical overall, and the longest descent measures 1,341 m. There are also about 6 km of cross-country trails at the resort.
