About the area

St. Moritz spreads about 107 km of piste across Graubünden, and the balance is clearly tilted towards intermediates: roughly 60 km of red runs against 30 km of blue (28 percent easy) and around 15 km of black and expert terrain. Beginners are well served — 4 magic carpets, 24 nursery runs and a low 15 percent share of hard piste. Families get the same easy-going mix plus lift access straight from the village. Strong skiers will find enough with 15 percent hard runs and a maximum vertical of 775 m on a single descent, but this is not primarily a steep-skiing area.

Sixty-four lifts serve the slopes, including 18 chairlifts and 5 cable cars. The area runs from 1733 m to 3295 m, so the upper sections hold snow well; the longest run measures 3389 m. St. Moritz (1822 m) and Surlej are ski-in/ski-out, with lifts 146 m and 105 m away; Celerina at 1714 m is a 365 m walk. Cross-country skiers have 252 km of trails, and 14 km of piste are floodlit.
