Splügen-Tambo
About the area
Splügen-Tambo is a compact Graubünden area: about 20 km of pistes, of which 10 km are green or blue — 52% of the terrain. Two magic carpets handle first turns, and there are eight short easy runs close to a lift base, so beginners can repeat the same slope without long traverses. Families benefit from two gondolas, which means no chairlift loading with small children. With only 2 km of black runs and 1 km of marked freeride (14% together) and a maximum vertical of 356 m on a single run, experts will run out of new ground quickly; confident intermediates have 7 km of red pistes to work with.
Seven lifts serve the hill: two gondolas, two chairlifts, one T-bar and the two carpets. The skiing runs between 1483 m and 2210 m, and the longest descent measures 1871 m. About 1 km of piste is floodlit for evening skiing.
