About the area
Sella Nevea – Kanin is a compact area on the Slovenian–Italian border: about 10 km of pistes, of which roughly 6 km are red and 2 km (16%) black or freeride terrain. Only 28% (3 km) is green or blue, so beginners get a workable but limited start — one magic carpet for first steps and nine short easy runs next to a lift base. Families should note there is just that one carpet, and the two gondola/cable-car lifts mean no chairlift loading with small children. Confident intermediates are the best fit; experts will run out of black terrain quickly.
Four lifts serve the mountain: a gondola, a cable car, one chairlift and the carpet. The slopes run from 1,106 m to 2,136 m, giving 750 m of vertical on a single run and a longest descent of about 3 km — the high top station helps snow reliability.
