Rogla
About the area
Rogla is a compact area on the Pohorje-side heights of Slovenia, with about 12 km of pistes. Just over half of it — some 6 km, 51% — is green or blue, and eight short easy runs sit next to a lift base, so beginners can repeat the same slope without long traverses. A magic carpet covers first steps, though with only one of them families with several small children may have to queue. Experts will run out of terrain quickly: black and freeride-graded pistes total around 2 km (14%), and the longest single vertical is 362 m.
Thirteen lifts serve the hill: three chairlifts plus four T-bars, five other drag lifts and the carpet, so expect a lot of surface-lift skiing. The area runs from 1,066 m to 1,511 m, and the longest descent measures 1,403 m. Cross-country skiers have around 8 km of trails.
