Prato Nevoso

About the area

Prato Nevoso is a compact Piedmont area built around easy skiing: 10 km of its 21 km are blue, and four magic carpets plus five short easy runs next to a lift base make it straightforward to learn here. Families get an extra advantage from the gondola, which small children can board without the timing of a chairlift. Experts will run out of material quickly - only 2 km, about 10%, is black, and the longest single descent gives 289 m of vertical. Confident intermediates have 9 km of red pistes to work through.

Skiing spans 1,461 m to 1,921 m, so this is mid-altitude terrain rather than high-mountain snow. Eight lifts serve the whole area - one gondola, three chairlifts and the four carpets - which keeps distances short and lets you ski back to the same base. The longest run measures 2,244 m.
