Port Ainé
About the area
Port-Ainé is a compact area in the Catalan Pyrenees with about 21 km of marked pistes, and 56% of that (12 km) is green or blue. Beginners are well served: two magic carpets cover first turns and there are ten short easy runs close to a lift base, so you can repeat the same slope without long traverses. Families can make it work, though the choice of very gentle terrain beyond the carpets is limited. Experts will find little here — only 4 km (18%) is black or freeride terrain, and the biggest vertical on a single run is 375 m.
The slopes run from 1,680 m to 2,424 m, which helps snow cover in mid-winter. Eight lifts serve the hill: three chairlifts, two drag lifts, one platter and the two carpets. The longest descent measures 1,902 m, enough for a continuous run without stopping.
