Plose – Bressanone
About the area
Brixen Plose is a compact Dolomites area with about 21 km of pistes, and the split is unusual: 52% is green or blue (11 km), while 26% is black or freeride terrain. That leaves a solid middle for intermediates on the roughly 10 km of blue runs, plus about 4 km of red. Beginners can get going here, but with less than a kilometre of green and a lot of steep terrain nearby, progression needs planning. Families should note that two of the lifts are gondolas, which is easier with small children, though the area is not a dedicated expert destination despite its black runs.
Seven lifts serve the mountain: two gondolas, four chairlifts and one platter. The vertical range runs from 1,038 m at the bottom to 2,502 m at the top, so the upper slopes hold snow better than the valley. The area is part of Dolomiti Superski.
