About the area

Mölltaler Gletscher is a compact glacier area of about 21 km of pistes, and the balance tells you who it is for: roughly 11 km are red, 5 km black and only 5 km blue, so 22% of the terrain is easy. Intermediates who like to keep moving on steady red slopes get the most out of it. It is not a beginner hill — the easy runs amount to four short pitches near a lift base — and with 5 km of black terrain (24%) and a longest single vertical of 553 m, committed experts will run out of new lines quickly. Families with small children should note there is one gondola and no easy-loading alternative for the youngest.

Skiing runs between 2,103 m and 3,083 m, which makes snow reliable through the season. Nine lifts serve the glacier: two funiculars, a gondola, four chairlifts, a T-bar and a platter. The longest descent measures 2,894 m.
