Meiringen – Hasliberg

About the area

Meiringen-Hasliberg is mostly a red-run area: of about 50 km of pistes, 26 km are red and 18 km blue, so confident intermediates get the most out of it. Beginners can start here with caveats — 37% of the runs are green or blue (19 km) and there are nine short easy runs next to a lift base — but 10% of the terrain is black. Experts should look elsewhere: only 5 km is black or freeride-graded, and the longest single vertical on one run is 788 m. Families should note that five of the lifts are gondolas or cable cars, with no chairlift loading for small children.

The area runs from 1051 m up to 2432 m, so the upper slopes hold snow better than the valley floor. Sixteen lifts serve it: four gondolas, one cable car, four chairlifts and drag lifts and rope tows. The longest run measures 3257 m.
