About the area
Martinské Hole is a small, mostly intermediate hill: about 7 km of marked pistes, of which 5 km are red and 3 km blue. There is no black, expert or freeride terrain at all, and the longest vertical on a single run is 257 m, so strong skiers will exhaust it quickly. Beginners can manage with caveats — 36% of the pistes are green or blue, and there are three short easy runs next to a lift base — but this is not an area we would recommend for families.
Five lifts serve the slopes: three platters, one further drag lift and one chair. Skiing runs between 1149 m and 1452 m, which is fairly high for the Fatra range, and the longest descent measures 1248 m. Plan a day here rather than a week, ideally combined with other areas in the region.
