About the area

Malá Úpa is a small area in the Giant Mountains, with about 5 km of marked pistes: roughly 3 km blue, 2 km red and only a fraction of a kilometre of black. That mix means 60% of the runs are green or blue and just 1% count as black or expert terrain, so it works best for people still learning turns or wanting easy mileage. There are six short easy runs right by a lift base, handy for repeat laps. Strong skiers will run out of ideas quickly: the longest vertical on a single run is 125 m.

All eight lifts are surface lifts — four T-bars, three platters and one rope tow — so expect to ski with a bar behind you. The slopes run between 982 m and 1,240 m, a modest altitude for this region, and the longest run measures 822 m. Total vertical is 125 m.
