Luz-Ardiden is an intermediate's hill: of about 27 km of pistes, 15 km are red, 7 km blue and just over 1 km green, with around 2 km rated black or freeride — 6% of the area. Experts will run out of steep terrain quickly, especially as the longest vertical on a single run is 381 m. Beginners have enough to work with, since 32% of the pistes (9 km) are green or blue and there are three short easy runs beside a lift base, but with only one magic carpet the first-steps area is thin, which is also the main caveat for families.

The slopes run from 1,689 m to 2,485 m, so the upper sections hold snow reasonably well. Eight lifts serve the area: six chairlifts, one platter and one magic carpet, enough to reach the top without long link-ups. The longest run measures 1,800 m. Cross-country skiers have 3 km of trails.
