Les Mosses – La Lécherette

Les Mosses in the Vaud Alps is a small, gentle area: about 25 km of pistes, of which 13 km are blue and easy — 51% of the total. Red runs add roughly 9 km, and only 3 km (12%) are black or expert-graded, so strong skiers will run out of challenge quickly, especially since the longest vertical on a single run is 339 m. Beginners are best served: there is a magic carpet for first turns and seven short easy runs right next to a lift base. Families can ski here too, but with just one magic carpet the youngest-children infrastructure is thin.

The lift network is 14 installations, almost all surface tows: 7 platters, 4 T-bars, 2 rope tows and the carpet, which suits progressing skiers more than lift-shy novices. Skiing runs between 1,379 m and 1,870 m, a modest altitude range, and the longest descent measures 1,558 m. There are also 6 km of cross-country trails.
