Lauchernalp in the Valais offers 20 km of marked pistes, and just over half of that — 11 km — is green or blue, so it works well for beginners and for anyone still building confidence. Two magic carpets cover first steps, and four short easy runs sit next to a lift base, which keeps early days simple. Families also benefit from a gondola and a cable car, meaning small children can be loaded without a moving chairlift. Experts get less: only 3 km, or 17%, is black or freeride terrain.
The area runs from 1,444 m up to 3,083 m, high enough to hold snow well, with 645 m of vertical on the longest single descent and a top run of 3,715 m. Seven lifts serve the slopes: a gondola, a cable car, two chairlifts, one T-bar and the two carpets.
