About the area

Kope is a small area in the Slovenian Alps: about 15 km of pistes, of which 8 km are blue, 4 km red and 2 km black. With 58% of the runs green or blue (9 km) and six short easy runs grouped next to one lift base, it works for people still learning, though the 16% classed as black or freeride means beginners should check where they are heading. It is not a strong choice for experts: only 2 km is black or off-piste terrain, and the biggest continuous vertical on a single run is 596 m.

Eleven lifts serve the mountain, seven of them drag lifts and four chairs, so expect a good amount of surface-lift skiing. The slopes run between 704 m and 1,534 m, a fairly low range, so snow conditions are worth checking before you drive up. The longest descent measures 4,577 m.
