About the area

Klínovec in the Ore Mountains is first and foremost a learners' hill. About 60% of the pistes are green or blue (12 km), only 3% count as black/expert/freeride, and four magic carpets plus nine short easy runs next to a lift base make the first days straightforward. Intermediates have 12.04 km of blue and 6.85 km of red to work through out of 20.44 km in total. Experts will run out of options quickly: 0.66 km of black and a maximum vertical of 427 m on a single run. For families it works, with the caveat that the easy-terrain offer rests mainly on those four carpets.

Fourteen lifts serve the area: 5 chair lifts, 5 platters and 4 magic carpets. The base sits at 751 m and the top at 1240 m, with the longest run measuring 2819 m — low ground, so check conditions before travelling. There are also 24.13 km of cross-country trails and 2.39 km of floodlit piste for evening laps.
