Kaunertaler Gletscher

About the area

Kaunertaler Gletscher is a compact glacier area: about 29 km of pistes, split into 13 km of blue, 11 km of red and 5 km of black. With 44% of the terrain easy and one magic carpet for first turns, it works well for beginners, who also get 17 short easy runs right next to a lift base. Families benefit from three gondola and cable-car lifts, so small children avoid chairlift loading. Experts will find it thin: only 5 km counts as black or freeride terrain, and the longest vertical on a single run is 460 m.

Nine lifts serve the area, including two gondolas, one cable car, two chairlifts, two T-bars and a drag lift. Skiing runs between 2,174 m and 3,106 m, a total of 932 m of vertical, which makes snow reliable. The longest single run measures 1,774 m.
