About the area
Ještěd is a small, red-dominated hill above Liberec: about 10 km of pistes, of which 7 km are red and only 2 km blue, with 0.6 km of black. That mix makes it a place for confident intermediates rather than newcomers — the easy terrain amounts to just 24% of the area, spread over five short runs near a lift base. Experts will run out of challenge quickly, since black and freeride terrain is 6% of the total. Families with small children should note that the only gondola-type access is a cable car; the rest is chairlifts and drags.
Nine lifts serve the hill: one cable car, four chairlifts, two drag lifts, a T-bar and a platter. The slopes run from 537 m to 923 m, so 285 m of vertical at most and 1,338 m on the longest run. Around 2 km of piste is floodlit for evening skiing.
