Skigastein – Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel

About the area

Schlossalm, Angertal and Stubnerkogel add up to about 73 km of pistes, and the balance is squarely in the middle: 33 km blue and 35 km red, with only 3 km of black and 1 km of marked freeride. That mix works well for beginners and improvers — 46% of the terrain (34 km) is green or blue, and six magic carpets handle first turns. Families are well served, partly because seven of the lifts are gondolas or cable cars, so small children never have to load a moving chair. Experts will find it thin: 6% black or freeride, and no single run drops more than 155 m of continuous vertical.

The area runs from 843 m up to 2,294 m, so the upper sections hold snow better than the valley links. Twenty-four lifts serve the three sectors, including seven chairlifts and three T-bars. The longest run measures 1,443 m, and there are about 3 km of cross-country trails. It is part of the wider Ski amadé.
