Gače

About the area

Gače is a small area in the Slovenian Alps: about 6 km of pistes, of which roughly 4 km are red. That balance makes it mainly an intermediate hill, where you can ski the same red slopes repeatedly rather than tour a network. Beginners can get started, but with reservations: only 31% of the pistes are green or blue (2 km), essentially three short easy runs next to a lift base. Experts have little reason to come, as there is no black, expert or freeride terrain and the longest single descent gives 364 m of vertical.

Five lifts serve the hill, four drag lifts and one chair, so laps are quick and short. The longest run measures 1,273 m. Altitudes are low, from 678 m at the bottom to 964 m at the top, so snow conditions depend heavily on the weather and it is worth checking them before setting out.
