About the area

Flachau is intermediate country: of about 43 km of pistes, 32 km are red, 9 km blue and under 2 km black — just 4% of the terrain. Beginners are workable rather than ideal: 22% of the runs are green or blue (10 km), two magic carpets cover first steps, and 15 short easy runs sit right next to a lift base. Families get the same mixed picture, helped by eight gondola or cable-car lifts, so small children never have to load a chairlift. Experts should look elsewhere; the longest vertical on a single run is 742 m and there is little steep marked terrain.

The area runs from 882 m to 1976 m, with a maximum vertical of 742 m and a longest run of 3201 m. Twenty-nine lifts, including seven chairlifts and six gondolas, keep the circulation fast. About 3 km of piste is floodlit for night skiing. Flachau is part of Ski amadé.
