Elm

About the area

Elm is a compact area in eastern Switzerland with about 27 km of pistes, and nearly half of that (13 km, 48%) is green or blue. Three magic carpets handle first turns, and there are ten short easy runs next to a lift base, so beginners can repeat the same slope without long traverses. Families benefit from the gondola, which avoids chairlift loading with small children. Strong skiers will find it limited: only about 5 km, or 20%, is black or freeride, with 1 km of marked freeride terrain.

The area runs from 1016 m to 2100 m, a total spread of 1084 m, and the longest descent covers 4 km with 836 m of vertical on a single run. Eight lifts serve it: one gondola, two chairlifts, two T-bars and the three carpets. Note the low base altitude when planning early or late in the season.
