Buffaure - Ciampac

About the area

Buffaure–Ciampac is a red-run area: of about 25 km of pistes, 16 km are red and 7 km black, with only 2 km of easy blue terrain. That mix makes it a place for confident intermediates who want to ski all day on medium-steep pistes. Beginners are poorly served — around 10 percent of the runs are green or blue, and first steps depend on a single magic carpet with four short easy runs by a lift base. Strong skiers get 26 percent black or freeride terrain, but the longest single descent drops 644 m, so it stays short of a serious expert area.

Thirteen lifts serve the slopes: two gondolas, seven chairlifts, three platters and the carpet. The gondolas help with small children, who avoid chairlift loading. The area runs from 1331 m to 2435 m, the longest run measures 4071 m, and about 2 km of piste is floodlit. It is part of Dolomiti Superski.
