About the area

Auron in the Southern Alps has about 61 km of pistes, and 34 km of that — 55% — is green or blue. Only 13% (8 km) is black or freeride terrain, and the longest single vertical drop on one run is 580 m, so strong skiers will run out of challenge quickly. For beginners it works well: three magic carpets for first turns and 13 short easy runs sitting right next to a lift base. Families are covered too, with three gondola or cable-car lifts that avoid chairlift loading with small children. Intermediates get the most out of it, with 32 km of blue and 20 km of red.

Twenty lifts serve the area, including nine chairlifts, three platters and one gondola. The skiing runs from 1,597 m to 2,444 m, with the longest run measuring 3,129 m. There are also 4 km of floodlit piste for evening skiing.
