Ancelle is a small Southern Alps area built around easy skiing: 67% of the 22 km of pistes are green or blue, which is about 15 km, and only 4% (1 km) is black. There are 19 short easy runs right next to a lift base, plus a magic carpet for first turns, so it works well for beginners and for anyone consolidating blue-run technique. Experts will run out of terrain quickly: the longest vertical on a single run is 339 m. Families should note there is just one magic carpet.
The lift system is 14 installations, mostly surface: 11 platters, 2 chairlifts and the carpet. Skiing runs between 1,322 m and 1,798 m, so the vertical is modest and snow depends on the season at these altitudes. The longest descent measures 2,015 m. There are also 13 km of cross-country trails.
