About the area

The 4 Vallées links Verbier, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon into 174.63 km of marked pistes served by 77 lifts, with red runs the backbone at 80.69 km and blues at 63.75 km. Beginners are well covered: 37% of pistes are green/blue (64 km), there are 9 magic carpets for first steps and 48 short easy runs sitting next to a lift base, which also makes it workable for families. Strong skiers get 29 km of black/expert/freeride terrain (17%), including 13 km of marked freeride and 717 m of vertical on a single run.

You can start from any of the five villages and move between them on the lift network; 18 gondola and cable-car lifts mean small children never have to load a chairlift. The area runs from 904 m to 3301 m, so the upper sectors hold the season best, and the longest descent measures 4153 m. Cross-country skiers have 8.77 km of trails.
